You’re in control of how (and when) Shovel reminds you about classes, activities, and tasks.
📱 Where to Find Notification Settings
- Open the “More” menu (bottom left of your screen).
- Tap Notifications.
- Adjust everything to your liking—easy.
🔔 What You Can Customize
🎓 Classes: Get reminded before class (and commute time, if you need it). Default is 15 minutes, but you can set it however you want.
🎉 Activities & Custom Events: Same deal as classes—Shovel nudges you before your practice, meeting, or event so you’re never caught off guard.
✅ Tasks
- Daily Task Update – Get your new tasks delivered at a time you choose (for example, 9:00 AM).
- Overdue Alerts – Shovel tells you right away if something slips past its due date.
- Planned Study Reminders – Get a heads-up (like 5 minutes before) when a study block you planned is about to start.
🔕 Total Control: Don’t want any notifications for a while? Just toggle on Mute all notifications at the top of the menu.
Why It’s Awesome
Shovel notifications = fewer missed classes, no forgotten tasks, and way less last-minute stress. Basically, you get to stop worrying about what’s next and focus on actually doing it.
🛠️ Troubleshooting Notifications
Not getting your reminders? Let’s fix that:
1. Check your phone settings
Even if notifications are turned on in Shovel, your phone might be blocking them.
- On iOS (iPhone):
- Go to Settings > Notifications > Shovel
- Make sure Allow Notifications is switched on.
- On Android:
- Go to Settings > Apps > Shovel > Notifications
- Ensure notifications are enabled and not silenced.
👉 Also double-check that Do Not Disturb or Battery Saver modes aren’t blocking notifications.
2. Restart the app
Close Shovel completely and reopen it. Sometimes that’s all it takes.
3. Delete & reinstall
If restarting doesn’t work, delete the app from your phone and redownload it from the App Store or Google Play.
