Check Things Off or Replan
College is spontaneous by nature, and we know that your plans will change before you can adjust your schedule in Shovel. That's why when a task is planned and the time goes by, Shovel doesn't assume you worked on the task until you confirm it. You do this by opening your planned task and clicking the blue check mark button that says "Mark time as used." This will add the planned time toward the task's progress.
You can check this progress by opening the main task window. If the time goes by and you don't mark the time as used, the planned time will be added back to the task to let you know you need to plan it again. You can do this by moving the planned study block to a new location or by planning the task again by dragging it in.
You can see how well you're following your plan by checking the "planned time versus used time" graph in your charts. Make sure to open Shovel every night to check things off, replan, and look over your plan for the next day.
